January Walk

I went on a one hour walk on January 2, 2012. On this walk I was not sure what exactly I was suppose to get out of it besides a couple of photos to post on this blog. Once I left for my walk and started thinking about what to take photos of I realized I could get something out of my walk. I realized I wanted to take pictures of the things that I see everyday but don't take the time to really look at or think about. I took pictures of things like parks, schools, signs, views, and playing fields that I pass by every single day but I never think twice about, I don't even take notice of their existence. When walking and taking pictures of these things I remembered all the memories I have at these places as I have grown up. When taking the time to really think about the beauty these places and things bring to us everyday that I never even notice because I am so rapped up in what I am doing I do not take the time to stop and appreciate what's in front of me. Not only do these things provide us with beauty and memories but they provide joy.       These places and things bring joy to people every single day. A school, park, view these things provide joy when people embrace them, people see and spend time create memories at or with these places or things. Or these places and things make the memory. What I really learned on my one hour walk is that it is important to take five minutes of your day to just stop and take in your surroundings, the things you pass by everyday and just really take them in and say thank you. We need to realize of the blessings we have right in front of us but we never realize it because were to rapped up in our own lives to appreciate the little things. I believe I need to take walks more often to be able to just stop and appreciate the little things. :)

If you behave as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him.

The topic that caught my interest most that we didn't get to discuss in class was; the topic of  if you behave as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him. If there is someone that is not your biggest fan or just comes across as if they really want nothing to do with you, it is only human to feel the same way toward them. In this situation if someone has hard feelings for you instead of automatically having the same feelings directed toward them, the person should try and be the bigger person and choose to show that person kindness even if they really do not want to. If one person puts in the effort and makes the decision they are going to like a person that does not like them normally both the two individuals come to actually like one another. Most people are to hard headed and selfish to be the bigger person and make the really easy choice of being nice. Normally a person hears that someone does not like them and that is it they can not be friends and do not want anything to do with them. What people do not realize is how much more effort it is to be someone's enemy then it is to be someone's friend. The truth is everyone has a choice to love someone or to not love someone. A lot of people do not believe it is a choice they say it is a clash in personality or they see things to differently to ever get a long. This is not true, there are qualities in people someone might not like or they might have diffferent opions you do not agree with, but this does not mean you can not like the person entirly because of a few things you do not see eye to eye with them.
In the book Mere Christianity C.S. Lewis says "do not waste time bothering wether you 'love' your neighbor; act as if you did." I believe C.S. Lewis is trying to say everyone who has an enemy or a person they dislike is wasting their time and energy. In the end those little things that make you want to dislike a person or not does not matter. It takes so much time and energy to dislike a person and have an enemy then to just show that person love. When you just show a person love and choose to be a friend to a person it can change that person in such away that you truley do love them and you are not just pretending. When a person decides they are going to be a persons friend even if they really do not want to be that is when they will realize all the good and positive qualities God has blessed them with. Everyone has been blessed with wonderful qualities God has given them, some peoples just do not stand out as clearly so sometimes we just have to take the time to love the person and take a closer look at them. Even if someone does not have a lot of really great wonderful qualities you just have to find the one or two super good ones and focus on the persons postive qualities and build those qualties up. Showing a person love and building up the persons good qualities will help them to grow on those good qualities and start to improve the not so good qualities. In the whole scheme of things if everyone just makes the choice to find the good in everyone and to focus on that we would not have enemies, and we would have more positive happy people as a whole.
